Welcome to D-Day Normandy, the original WWII modification of First Person Shooters. You do not need to own Quake2 to play this mod. If this is your first time visiting you can get more information from the features, classes, and weapons links to the left. Visit the download section for the Quake2 mod file or the free stand-alone version.
D-Day Normandy is no longer being officially worked on, however the community continues to grow and expand upon what the ViperSoft team created. Information on the team’s next game will be available here in the future. The community now keeps D-Day alive, for the latest community maps, modifications, and links, please visit the unofficial forums.

| 2008-12-21 · Happy holidays! This may look familiar. |
It's time for the holidays again and this is what's going on in the dday community:
Rab,d has released the M1 Garand as an early gift for the EGL users. He also released a present, though you need to open it first before you can see what's inside! A double treat for the EGL adaptors.
For the non-EGL users, there is still the good old DDay Christmas pak that has been around since ages! Rename the pak to "pak9.pak" and place it in the /dday folder of your installment!. Click here for the pak.

I have also totally renewed files.ddaynormandy.com! I ditched Olate as I was getting a LOT of spam. I'll upload the files via good ol' FTP as no one is uploading anything anyway. Happy Holidays and enjoy the new maparchive! |

I'd like to start off by wishing everybody a happy newyear!
We haven't been sitting still and worked on our 3D models for the DDay+ project. You can follow the modelling progress on the DDC Forums in this thread. I have written a few tutorials about modelling which can be found in the DDay School and in the modelling thread. The Chilean community seems to be very supportive of our project as well!

| 2007-11-13 · Site goes dynamic |
Several things in this site have changed, although you can't see any of the differences. I've been working on a better way to admin the site, before, I could only work on the site when I was at home but now I can post news and edit some things from any browser anywhere.
Also some very bad news: Himmy's server has dissapeared to never return. Why, I don't know, but we will surely miss one of the finest NA servers there ever was. Sometimes the admins were sh*t but let's just remember the good things and good times we had on Himmy's. The way the server was named for last couple of weeks was pointing into the direction the server was headed, "Himmy's Last Stand". Let us hope that our most favorite game doesn't sink away with the server and that we can recruit new people with the projects that are at hand.
Rumors are that the ITA DLL is going to be released not long from now (if I'm not starting the rumors by posting this) and I'd also like to inform you that Rad,b has released his HQ texture pack, which will give the graphics of the game a serious boost. Get it at the forums!!

Dirk has transferred all the files from his texnofobix mirror to the ddaynormandy.com files section! They are now available here. I will try to get this on the Olate system asap. Also, the Polish addon seems to have been lost, I'm trying to find this and upload this as soon as I can too. Update 07/23/2007 : The Olate system is up and running! I'm still looking to tweak it a bit here and there, although it just might not happen. I'll see what I can do. 07/14/2007 · !nFerNo Hey! |
| 2007-07-12 · Yes, we're still alive. |
We're still around and are still working on things such as the download section with Olate, a downloadable DDay installer and the site as a whole. I admit it's not the fastest edited site around, but we're getting there eventually. Keep checking from time to time, don't troll it daily though, and you'll find some interesting news!
Lord Fido has almost completed his new map by now and tanatovago is also working on a new DDay map.

Rab,d is making mapping tutorials for DDay Normandy, which are very useful for beginners. Experienced mappers might learn a thing or 2 from Rab,d too. The URL for this tutorial section will be http://school.ddaynormandy.com.
magz has asked for anyone who wants to play against [SC] (Steam Crew) to join the Sauna Room Revived this evening using the following ip address: 68.97.168.17:27910 or by using your favorite game launcher. It will be an open practice for the [SC] clan against whoever wishes to show up. If you want a quality game tonight, join the Sauna Room Revived.

The tournament organised by mofo didn't quite get started. If you still are interested, report back here and get your team organised. Contact mofo on the DDC forums to get the ball rolling. Start playing people!
I have 'plans' to write a small DDay messenger. Everybody uses a different type of IM or other ways to keep in touch. The only place we all talk to each other are the forums which isn't handy to set-up matches etc. I'll see what I can do regarding this matter, but the site and the mirrors are first priority at the moment.
For those who want to, I'll be handing out URL redirects for the servers. If you'd like your server to be server1.ddaynormandy.com, server2.ddaynormandy.com (etc) contact me via a PM on the DDC forums or through mail at infy [dot] inferno [at] gmail [dot] com. You can also mail suggestions via the same address.

| 2007-02-28 · Site update |
I'm working on this website whenever I have the time to. It's coming around quite nicely, although there are some glitches I need to fix, such as the left table cell shifting 1px in Firefox (fixed :D). I'm not even going to mention IE7, which is being a total bitch with it's gigantic table headers. Besides this, all I need to do is add content to this site.
If anyone is interested in making pages for the classes, send me a mail at infy [dot] inferno [at] gmail [dot] com. Use HTML formatting as you'd use BBcode (thus, no header/body tags) and use <p></p> tags per paragraph. Also, name these files .class files. You'd be helping out a great deal! An example can be found here. (right-click, save as and open in notepad). Same goes for the weapons, just name these files .weap.
Dirk is working on a new DDMA (DDay Distributed Map Archive) using Olate (this will eventually become a ddaynormandy.com hosted mirror too). Mappers, developers and other contributors can add their work to this system so that files can be accessed and downloaded easily from 1 central website. The Olate layout will get a small 'overhaul' to fit better within this site.

| 2007-02-15 · Welcome |
This post below was the last news post from the old DDay Normandy website. The community has been developing DDay Normandy ever since and it's still improving! We hope you enjoy this game as much as we do, as it kept us chained to our old computers since it was first released. Currently, Rab!d is working on a graphical overhaul of the game, as well as some "under the hood" fixes such as MD3 models and other Quake 3 extensions.
However, this site is dedicated to the 4.1 version along with it's many add-ons, such as more playable teams besides Allies and Axis, more maps, soundpacks etc. You can get started by selecting one of the packages to your right. If you are interested in the active development of DDay Normandy, please visit the DDay Dev Central. Have fun and see you on the battlefield, soldier!
